Have a marvelous weekend

A small collection of things to read, watch, cook, and enjoy this weekend.

Two hands holding cocktails and clinking glasses to start the weekend

Inspired by the ladies over at A Cup of Jo, I thought of ending the work week and welcoming the weekend with a little dispatch from my brain: a short roundup of things that have inspired my week.

Hopefully the weather will be kind to us this weekend and there’ll be cozy walks that end in coffee shop dates, and if we’re feeling crazy, perhaps there’ll be baking? Wild, I know!

I hope you have a great weekend, and I’ll see you again next week for a spicy condiment recipe you won’t want to miss. In the meantime, here are a few fun links from around the web!

I’ve just got this tote bag from Gap for a whopping 50% off, and I love it. It’s big enough to fit my laptop, and it looks very casual and chic, despite being so affordable. Which color would you get – classic black or Red Spice?

I listened to the audio version of The Housemaid last year and I was hooked, so I’ve been thinking of watching the movie in the theater. I think it’s the kind of movie that needs to be experienced on the big screen. Should I?

Speaking of books, I love checking out little free libraries, and every once in a while you come away with a really good find. Recently, I came across a copy of The Secret History by Donna Tartt in excellent condition. I can’t wait to read it.

If you love movies, talking about them, learning about all the behind-the-scenes struggles and gossip – you’re going to love the What Went Wrong podcast. I’m very picky about the podcasts I listen to these days, but the episodes are full of interesting trivia and fun facts, and they’re straight to the point. The one on American Psycho was great, and I can’t wait to rewatch that classic. In fact, the podcast has really reignited my love for movies, and since then I’ve rewatched Silence of the Lambs and The Sixth Sense – and my watch list keeps on growing.

We played Ticket to Ride over Christmas, and I was reminded of how fun that game is. Perfect for a chilly winter evening with friends and bottomless glasses of wine.

I was browsing the Urban Outfitters website for some gifts and came across this Santorini Fishing Club graphic tee that I can’t stop thinking about. Should I get it?

This Buydeem DT640 four-slice toaster. I mean, I need it!!

And then this retro-looking Dmofwhi gooseneck electric kettle. I’m a sucker for cool designs.

Stephen King on Rob Reiner, The Body, and Stand by Me.

Every now and then, I open a random page from Mary Oliver’s Devotions and let the words from one random poem fill me. There’s nothing quite as inspiring. This year I want to try and do it as often as possible.

Oh my, I really want to try this hot chocolate cake.

A happiness jar. What a lovely idea.

That’s all for now. Have a marvelous weekend, and I’ll see you back here next week!
